I remember, "I remember Flores”, a book by Tasuku Sato. He was a commander of Flores Island during the Second World War.

When first time he came to Flores, He did study of the religion which most of the people in his command professed. What happen next to Captain Sato....?

This Japanese after he met the Florenese, the beautiful island and their religion/culture his study gradually swung him from indifference to sympathy to deep interest. Amazing!

Like Jack and John, the retired naval officer, Captain Sato described about Flores really touch in deep of my heart and making me more enticing for the calm life of the Flores people.

Re Message No 48 from Antthony Gross

John Batman died in 1839. His funeral was held on 8 May 1839.

So that makes it 170 years!

Hope all is going well for you both - keep safe and I look forward to continue hearing about your adventure - when you have time!
By the way - are the political events unfolding in the Caucasus possibly going to mean changes in your itinerary ?
Regards - Geoff
