Am in awe at what you have achieved. Pleased to know that you briefly experienced Iran and encourage you to return for a closer look. We backpack there regularly for a month at a time and are in our 60’s. It provides us with another perspective. Saw mention of a Danny Blay in your responses. I taught him at Mckinnon H.S. Assume it’s the same Danny. Small world - and not scary, as you say. Well done. What did you do with the car at the end of the trip?

Hi, Jon and Jack, What an amazing , memorable, trip you have had, and
something you will live with forever. Congratulations on the planning and execution of this venture. However, give us a thought now, and PLEASE come back soon. Some of your stand-ins have been reasonable, Jon, but the stand-ins for stand-ins, for stand-ins,like our present one, R…… E……,seem to think they are superior to everyone and everything, and are hopeless.Please come back, as soon as you and Jan are better, as “All is forgiven”. Ping is a brand of golf clubs but I couldn’t make the connection to your car, guys. You haven’t enlightened us as to the significance of naming your car Ping. Do tell. You’re not far off your ultimate destination now, looking at the map. How methodical it has been. Mind you, we need you to fill in the blanks between blogs. Gee, you guys are so lucky to be so out of all the crap going on in the world right now. If I were you, I’d sign up for being a permanent gypsy.

Hope you will be making a DVD of your trip. You can both do some of the voice-over. But buy a tent and a dog, and keep wandering. It’s a way more tranquil life than you’ve left behind right now.

On the Ping question, one of our kids’ favourite bedtime stories was “The Story of Ping” about the duck who was always last back on the boat - so I presume that’s the connection.
